Just Keep Swimming…

In the short time Miss K has been Miss K I think she has received more presents then I have received in my entire life. Her presents mostly get delivered to my office and today she got yet another gift.

The gift was sent by Sam from Huggies and its the perfect summer gift. Little Huggies swimmers and a swimmers towel. It arrived just in time for our holiday.

So Miss K will swim in peace and I don’t have to worry about the nappy soaking up all the water :-)  The Little Swimmers  also have the coolest Disney prints on them so I am sure they going to be a hit with all toddlers. The shape has also been changed for a better fit and to prevent leakages and they have Velcro straps which open and close easily.

As Dory sings while with Marlin in Finding Nemo, ‘Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim.’ Miss K will carry on swimming this holiday with no worries :-)

Thanks to Sam and Huggies for the gift.

P.S You can find Huggies on facebook and twitter. You can find little swimmers in stores.

Friday Funnies

Yesterday we moved into a new house and while we where packing things away into boxes Miss K was also ‘helping’ us while also being a toddler.

When Good meets evil meets cuteness.

We had our year end function on Wednesday and we had been given ‘party packs’ filled with dress up things, from feather strings, rings, bangles, big glasses and of course the devil horns. Miss K decided she wanted to wear both the Christmas hat and the horns.

All the furniture was moved out into the lounge , Miss K’s pram was folded and she decided to get on the pram without really thinking how she would get down. After realising she couldn’t get down she started crying and calling for me and when I did come she got off the pram with no issues, guess she needed mommy for some emotional support :-)

Toddlerism = things that toddlers do that are sometimes unexplainable, sometimes quirky and sometimes funny :-)

hair today, gone tomorrow

Miss K was born with a head full of hair but when she turned one we cut her, to say my heart was broken is an understatement, I loved her hair and how long it was. It took me a while to get used to her cause she looked so much like a boy and not like my little princess. I loved how we could plait it and put coloured ribbons in her hair. Managing it was a little difficult as she refused to get it combed so we had to do everything when she fell asleep.

Taken at her 1st birthday Party

We eventually cut the baby hair on the 8 of May due to culture reasons after I had complained a few times but it had to be done.

Hair all gone

So excited that Miss K’s hair has finally grown long enough to be tied up and plaited and she doesn’t complain like she used to when its been done up. Guess cutting the hair was a good thing after all.

Hair finally growing

I recently also cut my hair from having my afro for 6 years to have practically no hair :-) Change is good but must say I am regretting the cut as I miss my afro

before

After

Since nothing can be done about my hair other than waiting for it to grow, I am learning to get used to it :-)

Weekend lessons

Weekends come and go too quickly, just when I am getting the hang of relaxing at home and being lazy, Monday comes and gives me a surprise.

Friday I got home rather late after a very long day at work late and came home to a sick baby, with a temp and a runny nose. I gave her medicine and rice crispies for supper as she wouldn’t eat anything else and sent her off to bed. We had a chilled weekend, Saturday I went to a blog workshop held by Tanya and must say I learnt a lot from it. Bye bye writers block, hello beautiful blog. I have made some changes to the blog and I am not done yet. I met some awesome people at the workshop and must say it was really nice having some me time.  Miss K was her normal self when I got home and it was in the evening where she put on a show for me and was singing and dancing on her chair and on the coffee table.  For a moment forgot she wasn’t 100 % and got reminded by her asking for a tissue. Sunday I went to church and spent the rest of the day at home.

Things I have learnt from Miss K this past week:

-Having cereal for supper keeps one young :-)

- Sometimes mommy needs to go and play outside to relax

-Just because you sick it does not mean you must not smile and laugh

-Watching animals on the animal channel is very relaxing

-Painting  your nails in different colours is fun
