Wordless Wednesday – My sick baby

Kamva has been sick the last couple of days and especially worse at night :-(  This is her when she is ‘sick’. Every time we where not at home she would be some what ok. If it wasn’t for her cough I am sure the doctor would have thought we are lying. Just glad she is back on the mend :-)

Lolly pop dr gave us :-)

P.S Her new thing is to say ‘huh’ to everything I say and she says it before I even finish talking.

Adoption or something like it

I would not call it adoption as legally he is not my child but in my heart a different story is told. Nearly 6 years ago I met a struggling mother who had a newborn baby and they needed help. I was in grade 12 at the time I knew I had to help, I did after all have more then them. The baby was a little boy and his mother named him Sinothando meaning ‘we have love’. I used to sleep with the little boy in my  bed every night as he’s mother lived in a room that could only accomodate a single bed.  I never imagined this little boy would steal my heart forever :-)

As the years went by I continued to support him and our bond got stronger and stronger. He lived with us full time and saw his mother on weekends. I sometimes wonder how things would have turned out if  I hadn’t met him? I wonder if he would have turned out differently?  People always say how one can’t love another’s child like their own, but how true can this statement be? My heart loves this little boy like he was my own. I had always refered to him as my nephew as I got tired of explaining how I know him and how we related.

Not the most flattering pictures( I was 18 in this picture, thando was 1)

I’ve watched him grow through the years and I can’t believe how quickly time has flown, this passed weekend we went and got school uniform as he is now officially a big boy and is starting big school.

Trying the full uniform on

This morning was his first day and I went to drop him off at school and the teachers asked me not to stay for too long so as not to upset him but he was too busy chasing other children to even bother to say good bye to me :-)

New found Friend :-)

Our Very first school photos

Last week Miss K had photo’s taken at school for the creche’s annual photos. The teachers told us how unhappy she was during the shoot. She cried most of shoot and I was worried we would have photos with tears running down her cheeks. We got the photos back yesterday and they don’t look bad at all :-)

Disgruntled Painter :-)

Love them very much :-)

Family Photo Shoot

Weekends are always so short but so great cause I get to spend time with Miss K. This weekend we went for a photo shoot at Image Perfect and it was unplanned, my friend Nosipho, was supposed to go but she had other commitments so we went in her place. What fun we had, Miss K was all over the place  and the photographer was complaining that she was too quick and she can’t good shots but must say the pictures came out very nice considering they where not edited at all just a few where made black and white.

Some of my favourite pictures from the shoot.

Weight Loss, Breast feeding and Yummy Mummy

After I had Miss K one thing I got alot was, ‘wow but you’ve gained a lot of weight’ and yes I admit I did, 15 kg’s to be exact. I have always had a small frame so thought I could get away with the whole ‘eating for two’ thing but boy was I wrong. I think I ate more in the first six months of Miss K’s life then I did while I was pregnant.

Never believe everything you hear, like breast feeding assists with weight loss, I breast fed exclusively for 6 months and stopped breast feeding at 13 months and I ate for four during the whole time. Breast feeding made me hungry and unfortunately I don’t have self control so I ate all I could with out feeling guilty. Now fast forward 4 months down the line and it was time to return to work and horror of all horrors I find out my clothes don’t fit me any more.

My wake up call came the day I went to get new work clothes and I had to get the same size as my mom, I was shocked and told myself it was time to lose the weight and it took me 12 months to finally get back to a size I felt happy with and now I am 4  kilograms away from my pre pregnancy weight :-)

How I lost the weight? I tried a few things, Herbex, Tony Ferguson  and gym and its a combination of these 3 that has gotten me to where I am right now.

I am now officially a yummy mummy. Awesomeness :-)

10 Reasons I love you

This post was inspired by Colourgiggles I love her blog really is colourful and creative.

The top ten reasons I love Miss k:

1.I love  you because your smile lightens up mood, nothing makes me happier then seeing a smile on your face.

2. I love you because you are such an easy baby, always chilled and making my job just a little easier

3. I love you because you never get tired when I take too many pictures of you, you play along and smile.

4. I love you because of your fearless nature. Unlike me you not scared to climb on things and try new things

<Apologies for the bad quality Pic>

5. I love you because you are such a loving child and give hugs and kisses to everyone.

6. I love you because you are such a helpful child. <Sometimes you end up with more of a mess but your intentions are good.>

7. I love you because you have the most gorgeous eyes and the longest eye lashes ever

8. I love you because you love books and paging through them and being read to. Something we both have in common

9.  I love you because you look so much like your dad and you share so much in common with him.

10. I love you because you love me unconditionally and give the best cuddles and the warmest hugs ever.

P.S I love you because you are my daughter

Miss K the Spring Bok fan

I am generally not into sports and stuff so wouldn’t think to get Miss K a rugby jersey but her dad thought he would get her one and well I had my reservations at first, a girl in a rugby jersey but kept those to myself. I mean she is already a tomboy and it can’t get any worse right?

So dressed up my princess in her spring bok jersey and blue jeans and off to the mall we went. Got stopped a few times by people saying  ’oh what a cute boy’, ‘he is so adorable’! One even said  ’I have found my son in law’

Maybe I need to re look this whole sport thing until her hair grows back

My cake smashing Queen

About a month ago, we did a cake smashing photo shoot with an awesome photographer Joli. Miss K hated this and she just didn’t want to smash the cake; I suspect she doesn’t like getting dirty LOL. These are some of the pics
