Weekend Round Up

Miss K and I had such a busy weekend :-)

Saturday morning we went to meet up with Esethu and her little girl, Elam. Who Miss K calls Elanda! Nothing like a brightly coloured jungle gym to drive the kids crazy. First we went to Jimmy Jungle and then off we went to Kay’s place. The play area at Kay’s place is divided into the toddlers area which is small and boring and then there is the super cool ‘big kids’ play area.

The toddler section for babies till 2 years which has toys and miniture slides which I think is too small for 2 year old, Miss K and Elam where more attracted to the older kids section, which had a ball pond, trampoline, long slides, swings and climbing walls.

Trampoline Fun

While the babies played Esethu and I where catching up and having some good old adult conversation. It took the waitresses about 20 minutes to get us a menu even though we sat right by the till.<Insert disappointed face here> The food took forver to come  and when it eventually did, they only brought my order, we then had to ask for Esethu’s order. Kay’s place is ok for the kids but maybe not so much for the mommies.

<I will however have to go visit again to see if things are better. Maybe they where having a busy day.>

On Sunday we headed to Centurion Lifestyle center for a birthday party. We took the Gautrain and on our way there Kamva kept singing happy birthday really loud and the lady sitting opposite us was not impressed.

At the Gautrain Station

The weather was a little too hot and the play area at spur was hot and Kamva got onto the trampoline without realising how hot it was and she burnt herself :( She than spent the rest of the afternoon first testing the ride ones with her hand to check how hot it was. She eventually ‘forgot’ about it and started playing again.

The party was great and Miss K had lots of fun. One thing  I’ve picked up is how Miss K won’t eat restaurant food, I ordered a pizza for her but she did not want it nor did she have her juice, I think I am raising a junk food hater :-)

Party :-)

We got home tired and spent the rest of the day with daddy. Really great busy weekend.

Weekend Round Up

“Weekends are a bit like rainbows; they look good from a distance but disappear when you get up close to them.”

John Shirley

What a great weekend we had :-)

On Saturday we went to Papachino’s with Sam and Cayleb. We hadn’t seen Sam this year so it was great to chat and catch up. Sam has been raving about Papachino’s for a while and now know why. WHat a lovely place to take the kids too, they have a huge play area and they have bikes, scooters, ride ons, colouring in corners, pizza making for kids and really great child minders. One thing I think I loved the most about this place is that all you pay for is the food you eat and of course tip the child minders. You can spend hours there and know your kids are having fun. Brilliant combination right?

Kamva fell in love with the play area and Cayleb was her ‘guardian angel’ and held her hand every chance he got and acted like the big brother. Kamva on the other hand did not want her hand held and would come crying and say ‘mama Tayleb’ which was very cute :-)

After the lunch we went to Sam’s place to relax a bit before going home and Cayleb was sitting on the couch with a folder and Kamva came and tried to take the folder and Cayleb in a very serious tone told Kamva ‘I am busy working here’ that little boy is too funny.

Sunday morning we went to Victory Park for our photoshoot with Cilla which we won on Tanya’s blog. When they say Cilla is really patient with children its true, Kamva was not in the smiley, laughing mood but Cilla had patience and Kamva eventually gave in and started looking for Pooh and Kitty in the camera lens. I can’t wait to see the pictures :-) Victory Park is also a gem of a place, it has a play area and lots of grass to play in. Worth visiting again

Shoot outfit

Sunday afternoon it was really hot and Kamva was nappyless for most part of the afternoon and she was dry for up to an hour so maybe its time we really started with the potty train. She now makes a pooh at about 7 in the mornnig and also at about 5 when she comes home from school.(Sorry tmi mommy stuff) I think this month I need to get some huggies pull ups.

We had a good weekend :-)
